Ecommerce News reports that retailers in Ireland are migrating online as the pandemic has fueled e-commerce in the country.

Danny Hughes, CEO of courier company Fastway Couriers, reveals that most of these companies are transitioning to online sales channels. In fact, some customers even increased their e-commerce shipping by 80%.

He states that people are still buying online, as retailers have been promoting e-commerce in light of the pandemic outbreak.

The data unveils that Irish e-commerce fell back nearly to pre-COVID-19 levels in August. That means consumers are not fully staying away from physical retail stores just jet.

Meanwhile, data from the Central Statistics Office show that the e-commerce share of total retail sales went from 3.5% in February, to 15.3% in April to just 4.4% in August.
