Study shows Europeans spend online more than ever?

According to Ecommerce News, 57% of European consumers shop online more than ever. Nearly 1 in 3 Europeans, which is 30%, are spending more money on virtual experiences.

The data found that there’s a 36% growth in consumers shopping for essentials online. For instance, buying books has grown by 32%, while hair places and fitness equipment increased by 19% and 13%, respectively.

The report also highlights that extra time indoors to learn new skills online. This way, 37% started with online banking, whereas 28% learned how to get their medicines online.

What is more, 66% of the people calling themselves window shoppers say they are now regularly creating wish lists.

But in fact, half of the new online shoppers say they remain loyal to physical retailers.

Another finding is that 87% of customers are careful about what and where they shop online. In addition, 2 in 3 respondents are worried about becoming a victim of online fraud. Therefore, 81% try to stick to familiar online retailers, while a similar share of people checks other websites and consumer reviews.
