As Google’s VP of Consumer Communications Products Matt Klainer told in a blog post, the company stops supporting its Allo messenger to focus on Messages. Klainer noted that Google has already paused investment in Allo and brought some of its key features — like Smart Reply, GIFs and desktop support — into Messages.

Allo will continue to work through March 2019 and until then, users will be able to export all of their existing conversation histories from the app.

We’re excited by the progress we’ve made with our communications experience over the past few years, and ready to take what we’ve learned from Allo and put it to work to make Messages even better. And by refocusing on Messages and Duo for consumers and Hangouts Chat and Hangouts Meet for team collaboration, we’re focused on delivering a simpler and more unified communications experience for all of you
