Rajmargyatra App Enables Toll Payments for Indian Highway Users

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced a new app to improve the highway user experience and facilitate FASTag toll payments and related services

Rajmargyatra App Enables Toll Payments for Indian Highway Users

‘Rajmargyatra,’ a unified mobile application by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), is now available for download on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store.

Catering to the needs of Indian users, the app is available in both Hindi and English. Its main features include providing comprehensive information on Indian National Highways, offering an efficient complaint redressal system, and seamless access to FASTag services.

FASTag is an electronic toll collection system in India, operated by NHAI. It leverages Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to enable drivers drive through toll plazas without stopping for transactions. Instead, they can make toll payments online directly from the linked prepaid or savings account.

Now, the toll payments are even more convenient, as they can be made within the Rajmargyatra app. The app integrates its services with various bank portals. Therefore, it is convenient for users to recharge their FASTags, avail monthly passes, and access other FASTag-related banking services within a single platform.

Besides the payment convenience, Rajmargyatra offers road information e.g. real-time weather conditions, details about nearby toll plazas, petrol pumps, hospitals, hotels, and other essential services along National Highways.

In addition, the app has an inbuilt complaint redressal and escalation feature. Users can report highway-related issues, with geo-tagged videos or photos attached for better clarity. The registered complaints will be handled in a time-bound manner. Besides, the system escalates complaints to higher authorities in case of any delays.

Moreover, the app is able to provide over-speeding notifications and driving assistance to facilitate safe driving.

According to the survey conducted with 4,990 drivers in the USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy and China, over 50% of drivers see the ability to make in-car payments for parking, fuel, tolls and food as a top priority.
